
Scott Rasmussen Receives Big Ten Sportsmanship Award

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Men's tennis senior Scott Rasmussen (Moraga, Calif.) was honored as the team's recipient of the 2009 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award as announced by the conference office on April 22. It was the second-straight year Rasmussen received the honor.
These particular student-athletes have stood out among the rest through displaying outstanding sportsmanship and ethical behavior along with an excellent academic standing and good citizenship outside of athletics.
Rasmussen will graduate in May with an overall grade point average of 3.5 and a degree in Civil Engineering. He was part of the Spartan men's athletic team to be honored with the Athletic Director's Cup, having compiled the best team GPA among the 25 MSU varsity sports.
Rasmussen, along with the other 10 recipients, is now in the running for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. One female and one male will be selected from the Big Ten schools at the end of the school year.
