Several Spartans Selected For Summer League All-Star Teams

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State baseball players Eli Boike, A.J. Achter, Jeff Holm and Tony Bucciferro have each been selected as all-stars in their respective summer leagues. Boike will play in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League game, Achter in the Prospect League All-Star game while Holm and Bucciferro will take part in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game. All three games will be played on Wednesday (July 15).
Boike, who is playing summer baseball for the Bethesda Big Train, was selected to play in the Mid-Atlantic Classic which will take place in Waldorf, Md. The outfielder currently ranks second on the team with a .370 batting average and ranks third in RBIs with 23.
Achter is playing this summer with the Chillicothe Paints and currently posts a 2-2 record with a 2.08 ERA. The Prospect League All-Star game will be held in Springfield, Ill., at 1 p.m.
Holm and Bucciferro are each playing for the Grand Lake Mariners in the Great Lakes League this summer. Holm is hitting .287 and is second on the team in stolen bases (11) and RBIs (10). Bucciferro leads the Mariners with a 1.78 ERA and is 2-1 on the season. The Great Lakes All-Star game will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio.
