
Green-White World Series Update

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State baseball team is holding its annual Green-White World Series this week at McLane Baseball Stadium. The White team is off to a 2-0 series lead after claiming game one on Monday, 6-3, and game two on Tuesday, 7-5.
In game one, the White team scored six runs in the sixth inning, led by Jeff Kinley's grand slam, to rally from a 3-0 deficit.
Brandon Eckerle collected two runs, an RBI and also scored a run for the White.
On the mound, Taylor Robson picked up the win in relief of Tony Bucciferro. Robson pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, and didn't allow any hits or walks.
Bryce Jenney pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn the save.
For the Green team, Jordan Keur had a double and run scored, Seth Williams hit a solo homer and Andy Rademacher had a hit and run scored.
Joe Zwierzynski started for the Green and pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only one hit with three strikeouts and no walks.
In the 7-5 win for the White in game two, Jeff Kinley posted three hits, two runs and two RBIs, while Trevor Cousineau had two hits and two runs scored. Jared Hook also had two hits, including a three-run triple.
Andrew Waszak picked up the win by firing four scoreless innings, allowing just four hits. Kinley came in with the bases loaded in the seventh and got the save, giving up one hit and striking out one.
Jordan Kuer led the Green with a hit, walk, stolen base and two runs scored, while Jeff Holm had two hits, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Mike Ferry delivered a two-run hit and stole a base, and David Garner added a double and scored a run.
Kurt Wunderlich took the loss, surrendering five runs, three earned, in four innings of action. Ryan Martin pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
The Green-White World Series resumes Thursday at McLane Baseball Stadium.
