Spartan Basketball is many things to many people. And while each fan may conjure up a different image, what unites all Michigan State supporters is their passion for one of the nation's elite programs.
During Friday night's Midnight Madness ceremonies, the basketball team will share with you their favorite part of being a Spartan. Beginning Friday and running throughout the season, Michigan State Athletics is providing fans an opportunity to share what Spartan Basketball means to them. Fans are invited to stop by platform 113 on Friday night and tape their message. The recording station will also be set up for games throughout the year (exact games TBA). If you are unable to record a message at Breslin Center, you can email your video to MSUathleticsvideos@gmail.com.
Each video will be unique. For some fans, it will be a specific memory like Mateen Cleaves hopping around on one leg after winning a national title. For others, it might be a general concept like championships or Final Fours. And for others, it might even trigger life memories like a dad taking his son to his first game. Whatever it is, Michigan State Athletics wants to hear from Spartan fans.
All videos should begin with the phrase "Spartan Basketball Is ..." After that, the content is at the discretion of the fan. Selected videos will then appear both online and on the Breslin Center video boards.
MIDNIGHT MADNESS INFO: Michigan State Midnight Madness is being held Friday, Oct. 15 at Breslin Center. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. and admission is free. In addition to autographs, team introductions and scrimmages, MSU will raise the 2010 Final Four banner to the rafters. Fans will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the 2010 Big Ten and Final Four trophies.
