Meyo Invitational Day One Results
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Michigan State track & field team opened up competition at the prestigious Meyo Invitational on Friday, Feb. 5, at Notre Dame University. Leah Elenbaas posted the third-best finish for the Spartans in the 1000m run with her time of 2:52.07. Patrick Grosskopf led the men runners with his sixth-place finish with a time of 14:17.78 in the 5000m run.
Rebekah Smeltzer was the top finisher for the women in the 5000m with her time of 16:54.77, finishing fourth overall.
Placing ninth and 13th in the weight throw was Ashley Lawrence and Catherine Daniels, respectively. Lawrence posted a toss of 17.58m while Daniels recorded a distance of 16.57m.
In the 300m dash, Alysson Bodenbach placed eighth with a time of 39.60.
The Spartans are back in action tomorrow at 9 a.m. when they continue action at the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center.
