EAST LANSING, Mich. - Incoming Michigan State men's golf freshman Conor O'Neil has played well in international competition this summer as he prepares for his first season of collegiate golf.
In early July, O'Neil finished second at the Scottish Boys Stroke Play Championship, one shot behind Finland's Linus Vaitanen. It was his best career finish at the national championships.
In early August, O'Neil led the Scottish to a runner-up finish at the Boys Home Internationals, including the country's first win over England in 13 years. He ended the championship with a 5-0-1 match play record.
