
Agrusa to Compete in Elite Weight Throw Competition

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field senior Anthony Agrusa will travel to Findlay, Ohio on Friday, Feb.4 for the fifth annual Elite Weight competition hosted by the University of Findlay. The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the university's Malcolm Athletic Center and feature two Olympians - A.G. Krueger and Libor Charfreitag.
The St. Clair Shores, Mich., native will make his first appearance in the Elite this season, along with two other competitors - Jerome Bortoluzzi and Brian Richotte. Agrusa posted a career- and school-record mark of 19.86m at the Kentucky Track & Field Invitational earlier this season to qualify for the event. Agrusa is the lone Big Ten representative in the field of 10 throwers.
Agrusa is currently ranked 23rd in the NCAA Division I in the weight throw with his 19.86m mark. His mark is also good enough for eighth in the Big Ten Conference so far this season.
The rest of the Spartan team will travel to Notre Dame, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5.
