MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior Kevin Puskaric and sophomore Jacob Jarzen of the Michigan State men's swim team concluded action at the 2011 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday, March 26 in Minneapolis, Minn.
"Overall, we swam pretty well," said MSU head coach Matt Gianiodis. "I really feel bad for Kevin as he got the flu on Thursday, and has been fighting it since. Jacob has been just a hair off, but he swam well today. The key is that he improved off of last year. Overall, it was a great season and we are definitely moving in the right direction."
Jarzen concluded his weekend in 200-yard backstroke. The Jacksonville, Ill., native, placed 22nd overall when he clocked in a time of 1:43.69.
Despite battling the flu throughout the weekend, Puskaric finished with a time of 2:00.26 in the 200-yard breaststroke. A native of Mokena, Ill., Puskaric placed 38th overall in the event.
This weekend marked the end to MSU's 2010-11 campaign.
