2011 Big Ten Baseball Tournament Bracket
PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Fresh off its first Big Ten title since 1979, the Michigan State baseball team (34-19, 15-9) has earned a No. 2 seed in the 2011 Big Ten Baseball Tournament next week (May 25-28) in Columbus, Ohio, at Huntington Park.
The Spartans shared the regular-season championship with Illinois, and the Fighting Illini (25-25, 15-9) captured the top seed due to its series win over the Spartans in Champaign, Ill., in late April.
MSU begins its quest for an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament with a 3:35 p.m. game on Thursday, May 26 against the highest seed from the winners of games one and two on Wednesday.
The No. 2 seed for Michigan State is the highest ever in program history. The Spartans will be making their ninth Big Ten Tournament appearance and second in the last three seasons.
Tournament action gets underway on Wednesday, May 25 at 12:05 p.m. as fourth-seeded Ohio State faces fifth-seeded Minnesota. Game 2 will begin at approximately 3:35 p.m. and will feature third-seeded Purdue and sixth-seeded Penn State.
All games will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
All-session and single-game tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.bigten.org and www.columbussports.org.
