Spartan Fund Annual Renewal Drive Underway

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The fundraising arm of the Michigan State Athletics Department, the Spartan Fund, announced that its 2012 annual membership renewal drive is underway. Information regarding membership renewal for 2012 has been mailed to current donors and football season ticket holders.

With the inception of a new membership level, $50 Spartan Backer, even more Spartan fans may now join in supporting 25 varsity sports while receiving various membership benefits, which vary by level of giving. MSU Athletics is entirely self-sustaining, receiving no general fund dollars from the university. This reality creates a significant need for private contributions to offset the rising cost of education ($11 million annually in student-athlete scholarships) and the resources (equipment, travel, facilities, etc.) necessary to field champions both on and off the field.
A contribution to the Spartan Fund is an investment in the future success of MSU Athletics. As a contributor to the Spartan Fund, you will join a dedicated membership base who wishes to move our Spartans to the upper echelon of not only the Big Ten Conference, but to national prestige and recognition. Each donation is tax-deductible that, made within the fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), accumulates to determine your Spartan Fund membership level, earn Spartan Points and provide associated member benefits, such as parking, premium seating, priority for ticket purchases, etc.
Gifts made to the Spartan Fund generate more than 25% of the annual revenue for Spartan Athletics, proving that Spartan championships truly are built on memberships. Donors may designate a gift to a sport of their choice, in addition to making seat premium payments online with a credit card with a Go Green account, which uses an existing ticket account number and email address to register.
