Spartans in 10th after Two Rounds of Hawkeye Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa - After the first two rounds of the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational on Saturday, the Michigan State men's golf team is 10th with a 15-over par 591 (297-294). Leading the Spartans, juniors Dave Ellis and Matthew Moseley are tied for 23rd at 2-over 146.
Saturday's Results
Dave Ellis (74-72) led MSU with eight birdies on Saturday, including five in his second round even par 72. Moseley was consistent today with two rounds of 1-over par 73. He had 23 pars, the most by a Spartan today.
Junior Dan Ellis is tied for 44th at 6-over 150 (74-76), while senior Chris Mory is tied for 49th at 7-over 151 (76-75) and classmate Jimmy Dewling is tied for 53rd at 9-over 153 (79-74).
No. 21 Iowa leads the field at 20-under par 556, six shots ahead of Iowa State. Iowa State's Nate McCoy is the individual leader at 11-under par 133.
The final round is set to begin with a 10 a.m. ET shotguns start on Sunday at Finkbine Golf Course.
