"This week was a great learning experience for Dan," said Spartan head coach Casey Lubahn. "He didn't play his best, but fought through all three rounds. With some improvements on his short game, the sky is the limit for Dan. Today completes one of the great individual seasons in Spartan golf history. I am proud of him and the rest of the guys for how they played all season."
Beginning on the back nine for the second-straight day, Ellis posted pars on the first four holes. After a bogey on the 14th, he went par-birdie-par over the next three holes to move back to even par on the day. However, a bogey on No. 18 brought him to 1-over on his first nine. He started the front nine strong with a birdie-par-birdie streak, but followed with three-straight bogeys and three-straight pars to complete his season.
Ellis finished the season with a 73.06 scoring average, which ranks ninth on the MSU single-season list.
