
Women's Tennis Downs No. 62 Ohio State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team earned its first conference victory over No. 62 Ohio State at the MSU Indoor Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The Spartans defeated the Buckeyes 5-2. MSU owns an 11-14 overall record and a 1-9 Big Ten record.
In doubles play, seniors Nicole Herzog and Michaela Silesova posted an 8-4 win over their opponent on court two. Picking up the point at the No. 3 spot, freshman Emily Meyers and sophomore Julianne Gruber edged Grainne O'Neill and Kelsey Becker, 8-6.
Junior Marina Bohrer improved her record to 14-9 on the season at the top spot after defeating No. 62 Kelsey Dieters, 6-2, 6-2. In the third slot, sophomore Catherine Parenteau tallied a 6-4, 6-4, victory. Meyers rallied to win, 6-3, 7-6 (2), on court five, while Gruber marked a win in two sets, 6-3, 6-4 at sixth.
The Spartans head to Penn State for their final regular season match of the season. The two teams will face off on Sunday, April 21, at 11 a.m. ET.
