
Meet the Spartans: Lexi Baylis

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team is in the heart its 2014 fall schedule. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," msuspartans.com will feature a student-athlete every week leading up to and then continuing throughout the season. Freshman Lexi Baylis (Clarkston, Michigan) is featured this week. Baylis has posted a 6-2 singles and a 6-1 doubles record during the 2014 fall schedule. She finished the Spartan Invitational undefeated, including victories over IPFW's Emily Richardson, Detroit's Viktoria Laskutova and Toledo's Lauren Thai. Faulkner paired with sophomore Athena Trouillot went 3-0 at the Spartan Invitational.

Favorite part about your hometown: Even though there are a lot of people, it feels like a small town.
Reason for coming to MSU: I knew it was the right place for me, I have been a Spartan my whole life, and it has always been a dream of mine to play tennis at Michigan State.
Post-school plans: MBA or move to Chicago
How long have you been playing tennis: Since I was four
Favorite meal: Pasta

First thing you did when you woke up this morning: I woke up late for my exam… So I jumped out of bed, got on my bike, and sprinted across campus. It's alright, I made it in time.
