- Junior forward Matt Costello scored a career-high 12 points to go with 11 boards for his second career double-double.
- Three different Spartans recorded seven assists, leading to 27 assists on 36 made field goals.
- Michigan State is now 98-18 all-time in home openers, including 20-0 under Tom Izzo. The Spartans have now won 47 of the last 53 games at the Breslin Center.
- Five different MSU players scored in double figures, with game-highs from Branden Dawson and Marvin Clark Jr. who each scored 15 points. In his third game in the Green and White, Clark scored a season-high 15 points on 5-6 shooting from the field and 3-4 from behind the arc in just 12 minutes.
- MSU out-rebounded the Ramblers 40-23, assisting in a 10-3 edge in second chance points and 46-14 margin in points in the paint.
- Michigan State held Loyola to 14 first-half points, the fewest by a Spartan opponent since Arkansas Pine-Bluff scored 12 on Dec. 5, 2012.
- The Spartans shot 36-57 (63.2%) from the field, higher than in any game last season and highest since shooting 65.8% vs. Northwestern on March 10, 2013.
