Gavin Schilling posted his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, both career-highs for the sophomore forward.
Freshman forward Marvin Clark Jr. earned his first career start, tying his season high with 15 points for the second consecutive game to go along with four blocked shots.
Michigan State held its opponent to 14 first half points for the second straight game, forcing the Broncos to shoot 5-30 (16.7%) from the floor in the opening half. Santa Clara shot just 29% (18-62) for the game.
Denzel Valentine recorded his fifth career double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
Michigan State's 21 offensive rebounds were the most in a game since grabbing 23 offensive boards vs. Illinois on Jan. 31, 2012.
MSU assisted on 22 of 29 baskets, led by Travis Trice, whose eight assists tied his career-high. Trice also scored a game-high 19 points and was one of five Spartans to score in double figures.
Michigan State is now 77-3 all-time at home in the month of November, including 55-0 under Tom Izzo. The Spartans have now won 48 of the last 54 games at Breslin.
