EAST LANSING, Mich. - Branden Dawson suffered a stable, non-displaced fracture on his left wrist. He will miss Michigan State's next two games, and could be back in action for the start of the Big Ten season. He will undergo further evaluation after the break.
Dawson's injury came in a game against Eastern Michigan in which he scored his 1,000th-career point earlier in the contest. On the season, he is averaging 10.8 points and a Big Ten-best 8.5 rebounds per contest. Michigan State's next two games are Saturday, Dec. 20 vs. Texas Southern and Monday, Dec. 22 vs. The Citadel.
Statement from MSU head coach Tom Izzo
"I feel bad for Branden, as he's been practicing so well over the last few weeks. But we also feel a bit fortunate when you look at the video from the game - it certainly could have been worse. BJ has been a quick healer in the past, and we anticipate this being the same."
