Forbes Named Co-Player of the Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior Guard Bryn Forbes collected Michigan State's fourth weekly honor of the season from the Big Ten Conference, as the league office announced Forbes the Co-Player of the Week on Monday after scoring a career-high 32 points against Oakland on Dec. 22.

The 6-3 Lansing native used seven 3-pointers to guide the top-ranked Spartans past the Golden Grizzlies, 99-93, on Dec. 22 in overtime at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Forbes converted 9-of-15 field goals, highlighted by 7-of-9 shooting from behind the arc. He currently ranks second in the Big Ten with 38 3-point field goals.

The Big Ten weekly award is the first of Forbes' career. Senior guard Denzel Valentine has collected two weekly plaudits this season, as freshman forward Deyonta Davis was named the league's Freshman of the Week on Nov. 30.

Michigan State returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Iowa. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. on BTN.
