Wisconsin is the No. 9 team in this week's CRCA national poll, while the Gophers are receiving votes, just two spots outside the top 20.
The Spartans have continued to deal with injuries that have limited healthy options. Once again this weekend, MSU will only field one four - in fact, the Spartans have only once fielded a second four - on March 28 in Columbus against Louisville and Notre Dame. This will be the Spartans' final competition before the Big Ten Championship regatta on Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis May 15-17.
Racing on 15-minute centers, the day's racing begins with men's races that feature Georgetown, Wisconsin, Boston University, and MIT. Women's racing starts at noon with the varsity fours, followed by the second then first novice eight. Minnesota and Wisconsin will have a third varsity four race at 12:45, with the Badgers sponsoring two entries, followed by a men's varsity eight race between Georgetown and BU at 1 p.m. The women's second fours will follow, setting up the second varsity eight and varsity eight races at 1:30 and 2 0.m., respectively. The final four men's races of the day start at 2:15 p.m., and run through a Wisconsin lightweight men's race at 3 p.m.
Fans should enter the park near the South Shore Visitor's Center. Entry fee is $7 for vehicles with Wisconsin license plates and $10 for out-of-state vehicles. More information is available at DevilsLakeWisconsin.com, including a map of the park and directions to the south shore.
