Spartan Swim & Dive to Host Alumni Meet

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State swimming & diving program will host an alumni meet on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the IM West Outdoor and Indoor Pools. Competition starts at 9 a.m., and all alumni of the Spartan swimming & diving program are encouraged to attend.
The RSVP for the event can be accessed at the link above. All swimming events will be contested in the outdoor pool, while the diving events will take place indoors.
Following the conclusion of the meet, the Spartan swimming & diving program will host a tailgate for the Purdue versus Michigan State homecoming game, which kicks off at noon.
The 2015-2016 Heusner Awards will be presented during the alumni meet. The following are this year's recipients:
Nancy Wing
Nancy Wing was the swimming & diving program's administrative assistant for 18 years. Wing worked at Michigan State for 37 years before retiring this past June. Her many years of loyal service is much appreciated.
Jeff Lambert
Jeff Lambert swam at MSU in the early 1990s and is now president and managing partner of the public and investor relations firm Lambert, Edwards & Associates. Lambert has been a steady supporter of the program for many years. His daughter, Hannah, is a freshman on this year's team.
Mark Lancaster
Mark Lancaster swam at Michigan State and graduated in 1982. Lancaster is the president and CEO of EmploymentGroup. He has been a long-time supporter of the program.
Jim and Dianne Wertz
The Wertz's came into the MSU swimming family when their daughter, Erinn, started on the team in 2006. Since then, they have been great supporters of the program and continue to be even after Erinn's graduation in 2010.
Gary and Wendy Merkey
The Merkey's started a relationship with MSU swimming in 1997 when their daughter, Stephanie, started competing for the Spartans. They have been constant supporters of the program ever since.
The swimming & diving program appreciates the support of its outstanding award winners and continues to be very grateful for its remarkable swimming & diving alumni community.
The MSU swimming & diving season opens on Friday, Oct. 2, at the IM West Outdoor Pool against Purdue and Michigan. Events begin at 3 p.m.
