EAST LANSING - Former Michigan State outfielder Anthony Cheky has signed a minor league contact with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Cheky was a mainstay in the outfield for the Spartans as he appeared in 190 games during his four years in East Lansing (2012-15), posting a .291 career batting average. The speedy outfielder set the MSU single-season record for stolen bases in 2014 with 29 and finished his career with a total of 79.
Cheky, a native of Portage, Indiana, recorded career-highs in both batting average (.313) and RBI (20) in his final season with the Green and White this past spring.
