
Several Spartan Seniors Sign Professional Contracts

EAST LANSING - Several Spartan seniors have signed contracts with East Coast Hockey League clubs and made their professional debuts, including Jake Hildebrand (Allen Americans), Travis Walsh (Missouri Mavericks), Michael Ferrantino (Toledo Walleye) Justin Hoomaian (Kalamazoo Wings).
Hildebrand made his debut on March 26 when the Americans took on Walsh and the Mavericks. Hildebrand earned the win in his first start, registering 32 saves in a 3-1 victory over the Mavericks and Walsh. Hildebrand stopped 44 shots the following night, but it wasn't enough as the Mavericks topped the Americans, 3-1.
The netminder has a 2.01 goals-against average and .951 save percentage in two games. Walsh played in both games over the weekend for the Mavericks.
Hoomaian also made his debut on March 26 when the Kalamazoo Wings topped the Wheeling Nailers.
Ferrantino made his debut with the Walleye on March 19.
