
Swimming & Diving Announces 2016-17 Schedule

East Lansing, Mich. -- Matt Gianiodis, head coach of the Michigan State swimming and diving program has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
The Spartans will begin the season with a bout of home contests. Michigan State will welcome Iowa to campus on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. followed by a tri-meet the next day, Sept. 30, with Iowa and Notre Dame for an outdoor meet at the IM west outdoor pool.
Michigan State will begin the month of October with its annual Alumni meet on Oct. 15. The women will have a final October competition down in Champaign, Ill., facing off against Illinois and Marshall on Oct. 21.
Both the men's and women's team will take to the road for the entire month of November, traveling to both Ohio and Indiana for three separate meets. Both the men's and women's team will participate in the Big Ten All Star Meet Nov. 12-13.
MSU will round out the month of November at the Northwestern Invite in Evanston, Ill. stretching from Nov. 18-20.
The US Winter Nationals will take place Dec. 1-3 followed up with the teams' training trip to Delray Beach, Fla. from Dec. 30-Jan. 6.
The Spartans will return for two conference meets, the first on the road at Purdue on Jan. 13. Michigan State will finally return home to McCaffree Pool to host Ohio State on Jan. 20 before traveling to Oakland on Jan. 21.
Michigan State will close out regular season where they will host Michigan on Feb. 4 for their final home contest of the 2016-17 season.
The Women's Big Ten Championships will take place on Feb. 15-18 in West Lafayette, Ind., while the Men's Big Ten Championships will be held in Columbus, Ohio Feb. 22-25.
MSU will compete at the NCAA Diving Zones from Mar. 9-11. The teams will wrap up the season at the NCAA Championships.
The 2016 NCAA Women's Championships are set for Mar. 15-18 in Indianapolis, Ind. while the NCAA Men's Championships will be the following weekend, Mar. 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind.
