EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State baseball continues its fall exhibition action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when the Spartans will play at Indiana at 2:30 p.m. ET at IU's Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Indiana, prior to the Spartan football game at Indiana on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
"Getting a chance to play at Indiana will provide a great opportunity for our players to play a quality Big Ten Conference opponent who we don't play in the spring. It's an exciting weekend because we will learn a great deal about our team while taking in the atmosphere of a Big Ten football game," MSU head coach Jake Boss Jr. said.
Any Spartan football fans in town are invited to attend Saturday's action and admission to the baseball game is free. Those that can't attend can listen to the game on the Spartan Sports Network, which will carry a live audio stream of Saturday's contest. The baseball broadcast will be available exclusively at SpartanSportsNetwork.com and on the network's 24/7 app for mobile devices (available on iTunes and Google Play). Broadcast veteran Scott Moore will call the action alongside Jake Boss, Sr.
This will be the Spartans' second of three exhibition games this fall. MSU opened its fall action with the Crosstown Showdown vs. the Lansing Lugnuts on Sept. 6, in a game that was rescheduled after a rainout in the spring.
Michigan State will wrap up fall exhibition action on Oct. 8 against BYU at 10 a.m. at McLane Stadium, prior to the Spartan football game vs. BYU at 3:30 p.m.
There is still space available for the 2016 Spartan Baseball Golf Outing that will take place Friday, Oct. 7 at Forest Akers West Golf Course. Fans are invited for a day of golf, food and fun, capped off with some baseball, all to support the MSU baseball program. The golf outing, sponsored by the Greenville Drive, will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost to play in the outing is $125 per person or $500 for a foursome and includes both lunch and dinner. Those guests wanting to join for dinner only can do so for $35. There will be longest drive, closest to the pin and skins contests. Hole sponsorship is also available for $200.
Following the golf outing, guests are invited to McLane Stadium at 3:30 p.m. to watch the 2016-17 team scrimmage.
