
Meet the Spartans: Jackson Ross

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a freshman periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2017-18 season.
This week freshman Jackson Ross (Brighton, Michigan/Detroit Catholic Central High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
To advance myself as a wrestler and be a part of a fast growing program at one of the best institutions in the country.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
The opportunity to learn and grow my skill set.
3. When did you first start wrestling?
As a freshman in high school.
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
Winning a team state championship with Detroit Catholic Central as a senior.
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Political science, I want to be able to impact the community through legislation.
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My high school coach, Mitch Hancock.
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Teleportation, I could get Chinese from China for lunch, then hop over to Italy for dinner.
8. Favorite meal?
Qdoba
9. Favorite TV show?
Game of Thrones
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Train Jiu Jitsu and spend some time on the lake with my friends.
