• Michigan State improved to 94-25 all-time in season openers, winning 37 of the last 41. The Spartans are 19-4 in season openers under Tom Izzo.
• Michigan State improved to 101-18 all-time in season openers, including 23-0 under Tom Izzo.
• The Spartans improved to 61-0 all-time at home in November under Tom Izzo.
• Jaren Jackson Jr. became the fourth Spartan freshman to post a double-double in his debut, tallying 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Deyonta Davis, Derrick Nix and Matt Steigenga are the other three to post a double-double in their freshman debut.
• Jackson Jr's game-high 13 rebounds are the second-most ever by a Spartan freshman in his debut, finishing one shy of Nix's record 14 (11/13/2009). He is also just the fifth Spartan freshman to grab double figure rebounds in his debut.
• Jackson Jr.'s 13 points match the seventh-best debut by a freshman.
• Five Spartans scored in double-figures, a feat last year's team accomplished just once all season.
• Michigan State blocked 10 shots, including nine in the first half, matching the fifth-best effort in school history.
• Michigan State scored 60 of its 98 points in the paint. By comparison, MSU did not score more than 42 points in the paint last season.
• Miles Bridges recorded the eighth double-double of his career with a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was the fourth game of his career with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.
• After missing the entire 2016-17 season with a knee injury, Gavin Schilling returned to action, tallying six points and eight rebounds, matching the fourth-best effort of his career.
• The Spartans turned 14 offensive rebounds into a 17-4 edge in second-chance points.
