Spartans Conclude Big Ten Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team concluded its final day of the Big Ten Championships, Feb. 18.The Spartans finished the championships with a final score of 195.85.
"All in all I thought we did pretty good," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "Racheal set a school record which was great. we ended the year with quite a few school records which was good. It was nice to see the seniors go out and there are some things that we can definitely build on for next year."
Racheal Bukowksi led the way competing in the finals for the Spartans in the 100-yard freestyle. She finished with a preliminary time of 49.61 and improved with a ninth-place finish on a time of 49.46 for an MSU school record.
Junior Haley Kornburger led the way for the Spartans in the 1650-relay with a time of 17:12.51 and a 32nd-place finish. Junior Rosalie Yockey finished close behind with a finishing time of 17:15.19.
The 400-yard freestyle relay concluded the Big Ten Championships with a 12th-place finish. The team of Bukowski, sophomore Courtney Aycock, freshman Kennedy Truex, and junior Madison Moore finished with a time of 3:23.54.
