No. 10 Women's Cross Country Earns NCAA Championships Bid

The Spartans finished third at Friday's Great Lakes Regional.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – No. 10 Michigan State women's cross country has been selected for an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships Nov. 17 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin as announced by the NCAA Saturday.

The Spartans are coming off a third place finish at Friday's Great Lakes Regional, totaling 89 points. MSU finished behind No. 11 Wisconsin (82) and No. 7 Michigan, who tallied 46 points to win the regional title.

The Green and White were the runner-up at the Big Tens on Oct. 28 in Lincoln, Nebraska, following only the Wolverines.

Redshirt-junior Annie Fuller raced to a fifth-place finish at Friday's regional, passing eight runners in the final 1,000-meters.

Sophomore Maggie Farrell (20:51) and redshirt-senior Erin McDonald (20:52) were the next MSU runners across the line, coming in 12th and 13th place, respectively. Redshirt-junior Jeralyn Poe (20:59) joined Fuller, Farrell and McDonald on the All-Region team after finishing in 22nd place. Sophomore India Johnson rounded out the scoring, coming in 37th place at 21:18. Â
