East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball team has received a signed National Letter of Intent from Malik Hall (Aurora, Ill./Sunrise Christian Academy [Kan.]).
Malik Hall (F, 6-8, 215, Aurora, Ill./Sunrise Christian Academy [Kan.])
Through seven games this year in his post-grad year at Sunrise, Hall is averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the floor and 44.0 percent from 3-point land … Ranked No. 52 in the country by 247Sports for the 2019 Class … He averaged 13.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor at Sunrise last year … Comes from the same programs (Sunrise Christian and MOKAN Elite) as former MSU standout Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn Jr. … Spent his first two years of high school at Matea Valley in Aurora, Ill.
"In Malik Hall, we have one of those guys that's an OKG in our reference point here," Izzo said. "He's 'Our Kinda Guy.' He's a guy that has versatility, he can play different positions and he comes from Sunrise, where one of our famous alums in Tum Tum played at, which means he's played against good competition, and he's played for MOKAN Elite, a very successful and well-run AAU program.
"He's a versatile guy who can handle the ball, can shoot the three and be on the block. He comes from a great family and we spent a lot of time with his mom (Julie) and his sister (Bri) when they were up. We think, because of all the different things he can do, Malik is going to be a dynamite part of our future."
"The recruiting world is an ever-changing landscape. It's a 12-month, 24/7 operation. We're excited to add Malik to the program and we think he's a guy who can help us in a variety of ways. We've got a few spots left and we're going to work diligently to fill those."
