MSU Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Graham Sikes on Berghorst: "Adam is a tremendous get for us. He is also going to play football here at MSU, which gives you an idea of his athleticism and makeup. I saw Adam pitch the summer after his sophomore year and he knew how to pitch but the velocity hadn't come around yet. I remember talking to him about it and the next thing I knew he had put the work in and had added 7-8 mph on his fastball and was getting it up to 89-90 mph. I think that is just how Adam is. He didn't say anything about it, he just put the work in and improved. The sky is the limit for how good he could become. He might be the biggest pitcher I've ever been around. He is about 6-7, 255 pounds right now as kid who just turned 18. Adam showed a feel for his change-up early on and I think that will be something that will separate him from other big, hard throwers. He's also a really high character kid that is going to represent the baseball and football programs well and I'm pumped he's a Spartan!"

MSU Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach Mark Van Ameyde on Berghorst: "Big body, multi-sport athlete who will also play football here at Michigan State. He has made big jumps on the mound over the last year or so showing improved velocity as well as a good feel for his change-up. He is a great competitor with leadership qualities that should also help us early in his college career. Adam brings a great attitude and work ethic to everything he does and we couldn't be more excited to see him in a Spartan uniform next fall."
