Final Round of Rudolph Championship Cancelled; Spartans Tie for 11th Place

FRANKLIN, Tennessee -- The final round of the Mason Rudolph Championship was cancelled on Sunday in Franklin, Tennessee, due to heavy rain. The teams played round two on Saturday and got through half of round three before it was suspended with plans to resume Sunday, however inclement weather prevented the completion of the tournament at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
With the cancelation of the final round, tournament results were based on the completion the second round, where the Spartans were 20-over-par 596 (294-302), tying for 11th place.
Just three teams in the 15-team field were under par, led by host Vanderbilt, which on the tournament at 17-under-par 559.
Yurika Tanida recorded the best finish of her career as she tied for ninth place at 2-under-par 142 (72-70). Tanida's second-round 70 on Saturday included three birdies and 14 pars.
Allyson Geer-Park tied for 37th at 4-over-par 148 (72-76) and Paz Marfa Sans tied for 41st at 5-over-par 149 (71-78).
Freshmen Haylin Harris (13-over-par 157) and Valery Plata (15-over-par 159) were 66th and 71st, respectively.
The Spartans will be back in action Oct. 12-14 at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
