EAST LANSING -- Michigan State junior golfer Allyson Geer-Park has been selected to play in the Augusta National Women's Amateur this April. Geer was one of just 72 golfers chosen to play in this prestigious inaugural event.
"I'm so honored by this amazing opportunity and what it means to me and women's golf," Geer-Park said. "It's going to be an amazing experience and something I will be grateful for the rest of my life."
"It's a true honor for Ally to be selected as one of 72 players for the Augusta National Women's Amateur," MSU head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll said. "It is a dream of any golfer who loves the game to be on the grounds of Augusta, let alone have the opportunity to play the course. It has been a goal of Ally's to be selected for this event since we heard about it last April and seeing her name on the beautiful green invitation with her name on it is very cool. Ally is a wonderful ambassador for our program and Michigan State University and we are all excited for her."
