Spartan Women’s Tennis Announces 2020 Schedule

Michigan State will host 10 opponents in matches in East Lansing.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's tennis head coach Kim Bruno announced the team's 2020 spring schedule Monday.
"We have challenging schedule this year that will provide us many opportunities to reach our goal of an NCAA berth," MSU head coach Kim Bruno said. "Every match is important and our team needs to understand that in order for us to be successful. I am looking forward to it."
The Spartans will begin its spring season at the Denver Invite on Jan. 10, before traveling to Athens, Georgia for ITA Kick Off Weekend. Michigan State is the fourth seed and will play No. 2 ranked Georgia on Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. The team will play either Notre Dame or Furman the following day.
February is a full month of tennis for the Spartans, with the team playing seven matches, including a three-match homestretch in the middle of the month.
The 2020 home-opener will be a doubleheader with MSU hosting Xavier and Montana on Saturday, Feb. 8. Michigan State will face Xavier at 10 a.m. in the first match of the doubleheader, before hosting Montana at 2 p.m. The Spartans close out the homestand against Gonzaga on Feb. 15.
The Green and White will take to the road for the last non-conference road trip on Feb. 22 and 23 in Hanover, N.H. MSU will take on Dartmouth on Feb. 22 before facing UMass in a neutral site match the following day.
Michigan State closes out non-conference play at home and will host Princeton on March 1.
Big Ten play begins on March 8, with the team hosting Iowa in East Lansing, for the first of six Big Ten home matches. MSU then goes on the road for three Big Ten matches from March 13-22, including match ups at Ohio State on March 13, at Penn State on March 15 and at Nebraska on March 22.
Michigan State will host in-state rival Michigan on March 28 to close the third month of play.
In April, the Spartans will host four home matches in East Lansing, including hosting Indiana and Purdue on April 4 and 5, respectively. The Green and White closes the road portion of its schedule at Wisconsin and Minnesota during the weekend of April 11 and 12.
Michigan State's spring season concludes with senior weekend versus Big Ten foes Illinois and Northwestern on April 18 and 19, respectively. The Big Ten Championships will be hosted by Pudue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. from April 23-26.
