Spartans Open The Landfall Tradition With First Round

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The 10th-ranked Michigan State women's golf team played the first round of The Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Friday at the Country Club of Landfall. The Spartans are tied for 17th place after an 11-over-par 299. Just three teams in the field shot under par on Friday, led by No. 13 Alabama, which leads the tournament at 3-under-par 285.

Haylin Harris led the Spartans on Friday with a 2-over-par 74 and is in 42nd place. Three Spartans shot a 3-over-par 75 – Valery Plata, Allyson Geer-Park and Yurika Tanida – and are tied for 49th place.
Sydney Naro shot a 4-over-par 76 and is tied for 65th.
Paz Marfa Sans is playing as an individual and also carded a 3-over-par 75.
Just 14 players in the field of 96 were under par on Friday. UCF's Tunrada Piddon leads all players after a 4-under-par 68.
The Spartans will tee off from the 10th hole on Saturday between 8:30-9:06 a.m.
