EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State swimming and diving teams will compete this weekend at the House of Champions in Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday, Nov. 22-24.
Twenty teams will be in attendance including Big Ten opponents the University of Illinois and Indiana University.
"We're going to be in Big Ten country this weekend in Indianapolis, but it's going to be a different set of teams," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "We're looking forward to competing against teams that we've never been up against before. We have a lot of things we're trying to accomplish this weekend and we'll see how it goes."
The Spartans are coming off a bye-week after winning on the road at Kenyon College where the men defeated the Lords 200.5-98.5 and the women won 157-143.
Both the men and women saw strong performances on the diving board from sophomore Jakob Heberling and junior Amanda Ling. Heberling took first in both the 3-meter and 1-meter, breaking the Kenyon pool record in the 3-meter.
Ling also took first in both events recording her third-consecutive victory in the 1-meter and second straight win in the 3-meter.
Picking up two wins was sophomore Jonathan Lee in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Freshman Liz Quarin also claimed her first victory of her Spartan career in the 500 freestyle.
