EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State Athletics and PNC Bank are partnering to recognize the PNC Achievers Student-Athletes of the Month. Throughout the 2019-20 season, deserving Spartan student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
Â
The honorees for November are David Dowell (football) and Annie Fuller (women's cross country).
Â
Dowell is a senior safety from North Ridgeville, Ohio, received his degree in advertising management in December 2018 and is working on an advanced degree in kinesiology. On the field, Dowell has been a three-year starter for the Spartans earning All-Big Ten honors in 2017 (first team) and 2018 (third team). This season, he ranks sixth on the team with 51 tackles, while also posting an interception and fumble recovery. Dowell is a two-time member of the team's Eagle Leadership Council, and has been active in the community as part of Athletes in Action, the Diversity Leadership Committee and Student-Athlete Support Services.

Fuller, a senior from Manistee, Mich., is majoring in kinesiology. She helped the Spartans to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in November, earning her second-consecutive All-American honor. Previously she placed second in the Great Lakes Regional and third at the Big Ten Championship, leading the team to titles in both events. In the classroom, Fuller is a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten, while also being an USTFCCCA Academic All-American. On campus, Fuller is a part of the MSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Athletes in Action, while also volunteering in various community efforts including adopt-a-family, food drives, and hospital and humane society visits. Last summer she traveled to Quito, Ecuador with ROMP (Range of Motion Project) to assist in providing orthotic and prosthetic care to those in need.
