
Mahon, Pimlott and Romeyn Honored as PNC Achievers Student-Athletes of the Month

EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State Athletics and PNC Bank are partnering to recognize the PNC Achievers Student-Athletes of the Month. Throughout the 2019-20 season, deserving Spartan student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
The honorees for December are Jillian Mahon (field hockey), Michael Pimlott (men's soccer) and Winter Romeyn (men's track & field).
Mahon, a redshirt junior forward from Wilton, Conn., is an accounting major. She appeared in all 18 games this season, starting seven, including scoring her first career goal vs. Central Michigan. Mahon is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten and was named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Team last year. Heavily involved with her major, she is an Ernst & Young Campus Ambassador and interned with Quicken Loans. In the community, Mahon is a part of Athletes for Hope, Be The Match, March is Reading Month, Teams for Toys and Student-Athlete Food Drive initiatives.
Pimlott, a senior midfielder from Farmington Hills, Mich., is a supply chain management major and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He has been a fixture in the Spartan starting 11, starting 76 of his 77 career games. Pimlott has three career goals and nine assists, while playing a big role in one of the top defenses in the nation over the past four seasons. A member of MSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), he has been active with Athletes for Hope, in addition to local food drives and school visits. Pimlott is part of a group of student-athletes who visit Marble Elementary School once or twice a week to participate in gym class with the children.
Romeyn, a redshirt senior from Ellsworth, Mich., is an applied engineering major and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. He was the top Spartan in the 3000m steeplechase the last two seasons, qualifying for the NCAA East Regional as a sophomore. Romeyn has been active in the community during his time as a Spartan, being involved with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), Healthy Heart Association, Love the City, Adopt-A-Family and numerous school visits.
