EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State's men's basketball, men's swimming and diving and volleyball programs earned NCAA APR Public Recognition Awards, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. These three Spartan programs scored in the top 10% of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Rate results.
Â
This is the seventh year the men's basketball program has been recognized, including the last four years. For men's swimming and diving it marks its fourth honor, including three straight. This is the first Public Recognition Award for the volleyball program.
Â
The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the ongoing academic performance for each team in every sport.Â
