EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State Athletics and PNC Bank are partnering to recognize the PNC Achievers Student-Athletes of the Month. Throughout the 2018-19 season, deserving Spartan student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
The honorees for May are Priscilla Harding (women's golf) and Justine Kiprotich (men's cross country and track & field).
Harding, a junior from South Lyon, Mich., is majoring in marketing and will intern with Whirlpool this summer. Next year, she will be the women's golf team's representative on MSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In the community, Harding has been involved with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), March is Reading Month, Teams For Toys, Race For The Place, and numerous on-campus outreach opportunities.
Kiprotich, a senior from Kentwood, Mich., graduated earlier this month with a degree in advertising management. He heads to the NCAA East Preliminary Round next week, fresh off winning his second career Big Ten Outdoor title in the 1,500m last week. It was also his fifth career All-Big Ten honor, including placing sixth at the 2018 Big Ten Cross Country Championship. Kiprotich has earned USTFCCCA Outdoor All-America honors twice, including finishing second at the NCAA Finals in the 1,500m in 2017.
