Michigan State Women’s Soccer Announces 2019 Schedule

The team will host 11 out of its 19 regular-season games.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's soccer head coach Tom Saxton announced the team's 2019 schedule Monday. In the upcoming season, the team will host 11 out of its 19 regular-season games.
The Spartans open the season with four-consecutive home games starting on Aug. 17 with an exhibition match against Toledo.
Michigan State will host Utah Valley on Aug. 22 to open the 2019 regular season, marking the third year the women's soccer program will play under the lights at DeMartin Stadium. Following the home opener, the team hosts Marshall on Aug. 25 and Eastern Michigan on Aug. 29 to close out the first month of competition.
The month of September features five road matches with the team heading out of town for the first time with two consecutive road matches, including a matchup at Boston University on Sept. 1 followed by a matchup with Butler on Sept. 5.
The Spartans return to the friendly confines of DeMartin Stadium for another pair of home matches against Detroit on Sept. 8 and Bowling Green on Sept. 12.
The team will close out the non-conference portion of the schedule with a matchup at in-state rival Oakland on Sept. 15.
MSU opens Big Ten play on the road at Ohio State on Sept. 19, followed by a match up at Penn State on Sept. 22. MSU then hosts Indiana on Sept. 27 for their Big Ten home opener and Purdue on Sept. 29.
The team heads back out on the road to start the month of October for a matchup with Minnesota on Oct. 3, before returning to East Lansing to host Iowa on Oct. 6.
The Spartan women will travel to Illinois for two matches to wrap up the season's road slate, taking on Northwestern on Oct. 11 and Illinois on Oct. 13.
The Spartans conclude the 2019 season with three-consecutive home matches, with in state rival Michigan on Oct. 19 and Maryland on Oct. 24. MSU will host Rutgers on Oct. 27 for the team's last home match of the regular season.
The first round of the 2019 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament will begin on Nov. 3, with semifinals and finals taking place from Nov. 8-10.
