Andrew Walker Earns Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Honors

EAST LANSING – Michigan State rising senior Andrew Walker has been named to the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday (July 24). Walker was one of 266 NCAA Division I student-athletes to garner the honor.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically or receiving their Associate's Degree. In addition, they must have participated in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Walker posted a career-best 73.97 average in 2018-19, which ranked fourth on the team. He played in 11 tournaments with his best finish coming at the Windon Memorial as he placed eighth at 2-under-par 214. The native of Battle Creek posted the best 54-hole score of his career at the NCAA Pullman Regional with a 1-under-par 209, which included a final-round 68.
Walker is an applied engineering sciences major and also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors this past season.
