Spartans add Hopman to roster.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State baseball head coach Jake Boss Jr., announced that Zach Hopman will be joining the Spartans in the fall of 2019. Hopman is an outfielder/pitcher from Brighton, Mich. (Brighton High School).
"Zach is a tremendous athlete," Boss said. "He had a great spring and made a run at the state home run record. He's a very, very athletic, left-handed hitter with obvious power at the plate. He's also going to have the opportunity to pitch this spring. We're very excited to have him as a Spartan."
Hopman will be joined in MSU's incoming class by Adam Berghorst (Zeeland, Mich. | Zeeland East High School), Jack Frank (Strongsville, Ohio | Strongsville High School), Dillon Kark (Commerce, Mich. | Orchard Lake St. Mary's High School) and Wyatt Rush (Grand Ledge, Mich. | Grand Ledge High School | Lansing Community College).

MSU Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Graham Sikes on Hopman: "Zach is a really good get for us. He was a bit of a late bloomer but when he put it all together he REALLY put it together with a huge senior season! He just stayed hot all season long. He runs well, throws very well and the 19 home runs speak for themselves. Zach has been a multi-sport kid, so that may have been attributable to blooming late, but I am excited to see what he's going to look like once he has year round work."
