Piot, Taylor and Walker Named to B1G Golfers to Watch List

EAST LANSING – Michigan State's James Piot, Troy Taylor II and Andrew Walker were all named to the 2019-20 Big Ten Men's Golfers to Watch List, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. In all, 42 golfers – three from each school – were named to the list.
Piot, a junior, was an All-Big Ten first team selection last season and also earned a spot on the PING All-Midwest Region list. His 71.49 scoring average in 2018-19 was the second lowest in school history. The native of Canton brings a 72.46 career average into this season, which is currently the lowest in program history.
Taylor played in every tournament as a freshman, compiling a 73.57 average which was third best on the team. He ended the year with his best performance of the season, recording an even-par 210 at the NCAA Pullman Regional.
Walker is the lone senior on the Spartans' roster this season. The native of Battle Creek has more experience than any player on the squad with 74 career rounds. He posted the best scoring average of his career last season at 74.49.
The Spartans open the 2019-20 season this weekend in the Upper Peninsula with the Island Resort Collegiate Invitational, Sept. 1-2, at Sage Run Golf Club.
