Trio of Spartans Named to B1G Golfers to Watch List

EAST LANSING – Michigan State seniors Allyson Geer-Park and Paz Marfa Sans, along with junior Yurika Tanida have been named to the Big Ten Women's Golfers to Watch List, which was announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Each of the 14 Big Ten schools had three players named to the list.
Geer-Park is a three-time All-Big Ten first team selection and was named MSU's George Alderton Female Co-Athlete of the Year last season. She led MSU with a 73.24 scoring average in 2018-19, which ranked as the sixth-best single-season average in program history. Geer-Park won two tournaments last season and was one of two Spartans to advance to the NCAA Championships.
Marfa Sans was a second team All-Big Ten selection in 2018-19 and ranked second on the team with a 74.13 scoring average. She led MSU at the Big Ten Championships by placing fourth, which was the best finish of her career at the event.
Tanida earned All-Big Ten honors for the first time in her career last season as she was voted to the second team. She posted the best scoring average of her career at 74.3, which was third best on the team.
MSU begins the season with the Inverness Women's Intercollegiate, Sept. 16-17, in Toledo, Ohio.
