
Geer-Park to Play in Augusta National Women’s Amateur For Second Consecutive Year

EAST LANSING – For the second straight year, Michigan State senior golfer Allyson Geer-Park has received an invitation to play in the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Geer-Park will be one of the 72 top amateur players from around the world to compete in the tournament, April 1-4, which will take place at Augusta National Golf Club.

The 54-hole, stroke play tournament will begin the week prior to the Masters Tournament. The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2. While there will be a cut to 30 players following the second round, the entire field will play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the 30 competitors who made the cut.
Geer-Park was one 72 players to take part in the inaugural event last season.
The native of Brighton will carry a program best 72.9 career scoring average into play this spring, which resumes for the Spartans Feb. 2-4 in Orlando, Florida. Geer-Park owns two of the six lowest season scoring averages in program history, while the three-time first team All-Big Ten selection has two career tournament wins and nine career top-five finishes.
NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon – 3 PM ET) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National.

- Winner of the U.S. Women's Amateur (One year)
- Winner of the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship (One year)
- Winner of the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific (One year)
- Winner of the U.S. Girls' Junior (One year)
- Winner of the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship (One year)
- Winner of the Girls Junior PGA Championship (One year)
- The top 30 players from the United States of America who are not otherwise qualified, based on the final 2019 Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking.
- After the previous qualifications, the 30 highest ranked players not otherwise qualified, based on the final 2019 Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking.
