Spartan Women’s Cross Country Ninth in USTFCCCA Poll

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Coming off a banner 2019 season, the Michigan State women's cross country was voted ninth in the first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll of the 2020 season.
In August, the Big Ten Conference announced the postponement of fall sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NCAA Division I National Championships have been rescheduled to be held on March 15, 2021.
In 2019, the Spartans finished sixth at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. Four of the five scoring runners placed in the top-50 to bring Michigan State to its best-team finish since capturing the NCAA Championship in 2014. The sixth-place finish was an improvement from 2018's 11th-place finish.
MSU also captured its seventh Big Ten title for the Spartans in program history and first title since 2014.
All-Region performers junior Jenna Magness and senior Sarah Kettel return for the Spartans this season. Senior India Johnson who garnered second-team All-Big Ten honors is also back for MSU.
