Spartans to Begin 2020-21 Hockey Season on Nov. 19

EAST LANSING – The Big Ten Conference announced the first half of the 2020-21 hockey schedule today (Thursday, Nov. 5), which will include 10 games for the Spartans prior to the end of December. The full schedule will feature 24 conference games for each team, plus an additional four contests per school against Arizona State University hosted at Big Ten venues. The 2020-21 schedule will conclude March 18-20, 2021, with the Big Ten Tournament.

The Spartans will open the season at Munn Ice Arena on Nov. 19-20 when they host Arizona State, marking the third consecutive year MSU will take on the Sun Devils.
Like last season, the Spartans will travel to Ohio State for Thanksgiving weekend, meeting the Buckeyes Nov. 28-29.
Michigan State will play four games in seven days at Munn, beginning Dec. 3-4 when it hosts Minnesota. Wisconsin will then visit East Lansing Dec. 8-9.
The Spartans will play their final two games before the break Dec. 19-20 at Notre Dame.
Game times and television designations, as well as the remainder of the 2020-21 schedule and further details regarding the 2021 Big Ten Hockey Tournament, will be announced at a later date.
Big Ten hockey teams will follow the same medical protocols that were developed by the Big Ten Return to Competition Task Force and announced on Sept. 16, 2020, including daily antigen testing, enhanced cardiac screening and an enhanced data-driven approach when making decisions about practice/competition. Arizona State University has agreed to adhere to the same testing protocols as the Big Ten Conference.
Please note: At this time, fans will not be allowed in attendance this season, with a possible exception of student-athlete or staff family members.
