Late Run Lifts No. 9 Maryland Past Michigan State, 67-60

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State fought back from a 15-point first half deficit to take a seven-point lead in the final four minutes, but No. 9 Maryland came back to beat the Spartans, 67-60, in a Big Ten Conference men's basketball game at the Breslin Center Saturday night.
Junior forward Xavier Tillman (Grand Rapids, Mich./GR Christian) had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Spartans, while senior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) finished with 14 points and five assists. Sophomore forward Aaron Henry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) chipped in nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

- MSU had trailed by 15 points (39-24) in the first half and were down eight points (39-31) at halftime, before using an early run in the second half to get back within one point (43-42).
- Trailing 51-48, the Spartans used a 12-2 run to take a 60-53 lead on a jumper from Henry with 3:24 to play.

- The 3-pointer from Ahrens keyed a 10-2 Spartan run as MSU took a 58-53 lead on a layup from sophomore forward Thomas Kithier (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) with 4:33 to play.
- MSU trailed at the half, 39-31, using a 7-0 run over the final 2:31 to pull within eight points on a layup from Tillman with 32 seconds left.
- The Terrapins had taken the early lead and used a 13-4 run over 3:06 to take their biggest lead, 39-24, on a 3-pointer from Donta Scott with 2:57 left to play.
