EAST LANSING – Michigan State redshirt senior defenseman Jerad Rosburg has signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars, the club announced on Monday (March 9). Rosburg will report to the Texas Stars, the club's top affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Rosburg, a finance major, appeared in 141 games during his four seasons wearing the Green and White and compiled 55 points (12g, 43a) – the most by a Spartan defenseman since Torey Krug (2009-12).
Rosburg had the best season of his career in 2019-20, putting up 17 points, including four goals and 13 assists, which tied for fourth on the team. He had 10 multi-point games in his career, four of which came this past season in Spartan victories.
The 6-foot-2 Rosburg had two assists in a 5-4 overtime win to help MSU complete a sweep of Wisconsin on December 7, and tied a career high with three points (1g, 2a) in a 4-0 road win over the Badgers on January 17. Rosburg had two assists in the Spartans' three-goal third period and 4-2 win at Minnesota on February 8.
Rosburg ended the season as the NCAA leader in blocked shots with 86, which is the fourth highest single-season total in MSU history. His 260 career blocks are the third most in Spartan history.
He's a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2017-18. As a junior, Rosburg was voted the winner of the team's Outstanding Defensive Player Award.
