Clark And Patterson Promoted To Assistant AD

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State Director of Athletics Bill Beekman has announced a pair of staff promotions. Epiphany Clark has been named Assistant AD/Sport External Relations while John Patterson has been promoted to Assistant AD/Development within the Spartan Fund.
"Epiphany and John are two valuable members of our athletics team who have done great work during their time at Michigan State," Beekman said. "I look forward to watching them continue to grow in their work to support the efforts of our student-athletes."

In her new role, Clark is responsible for coordinating the external relations for Spartan Olympic sports which include helping create sport specific plans for fundraising, marketing and communication. She is also the sport administrator for men's and women's golf, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, and men's and women's cross country. Clark will also assist in leading the efforts of the Varsity S Club.
"I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue serving and representing Michigan State University and Spartan Athletics," Clark said. "It's an honor to be a part of shaping the current and future successes of our programs and department. I am thankful to our leadership and staff for this opportunity and look forward to the many exciting challenges ahead."
Previously, Clark had been a part of the Spartan Fund, most recently holding the title Director of Donor Engagement. She came to MSU from Central Washington University where she served as Director of Development.
Originally from Choctaw, Oklahoma, Clark earned both B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in psychology and sport management respectively from Baylor University. Upon graduating from Baylor, she worked as a Development Associate with The Georgia Bulldog Club at the University of Georgia where she oversaw the Young Alumni Club and women's basketball courtside seating.

Patterson arrived at Michigan State in August 2014, joining the Spartan Fund at that time. He focuses on engaging the Spartan family to create opportunities that will support MSU student-athletes.
"I look forward to serving the Spartan Fund and MSU Athletics in my new role while continuing to partner with supporters and impacting Spartan student-athletes," Patterson said.
Prior to Michigan State, Patterson served as the Assistant Director of the National Commodore Club and Athletics Development at Vanderbilt University.
Originally from Columbia, Tennessee, Patterson graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor's degree in sports management and was a football student-athlete. He also holds a master's of business administration from Marshall University where he was a graduate assistant in the athletic department.
